Here at Lachica Orthodontics, we understand that choosing an orthodontist can be a lot of work because you want to make sure that you make a great choice.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that your child receive a checkup with an orthodontist as soon as you see that there is something wrong or no later than age 7. That being said, you are never too old to benefit from orthodontic treatment, and we are happy to welcome people of all ages.
Finding the right orthodontist is a very important decision. You should not rush into it or just book an appointment with the first one you find. Since this is such an important decision make sure that you do your homework so that you are happy with your choice.
First, you will want to look up all of the options in your area. This will give you a list that you can later narrow down.
Once you have your list you will want to check out reviews. An orthodontist with terrible reviews is probably not your best option. If they have a lot of bad reviews, cross them off your list.
Next, you can ask around. Have your friends or family members had an experience with an orthodontist? They may be able to assist you by advising you about which ones you should chose and which ones you shouldn’t chose.
Price is always an important matter to investigate. Although the cheapest orthodontists may seem appealing, they may be cheap for a reason. Remember that with a lot of businesses, you get what you pay for. Make sure that you check prices so that you are comfortable, but don’t pick one just because it will save you money.
Once you have researched these four things, you are ready to make your final decision. We understand that it’s important to research and ask questions prior to selecting your orthodontist. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us at (925) 829-1100.
